For reviewers
Íslenska þjóðfélagið is a peer-reviewed journal that uses a double-blind review process, where reviewers do not receive information about the authors, and the authors do not receive information about the reviewers.
Authors and reviewers submit their material through the journal’s OJS online management and editorial system. For an article to be accepted for publication in the journal, it must demonstrate novelty, and it is the responsibility of the authors to show in what way this novelty lies. Novelty may consist in a theoretical contribution, methodology, or the presentation of new data.
The possible outcomes of peer review are:
-
the article is accepted without changes;
-
the article is accepted with minor revisions;
-
the article requires major revisions but may be resubmitted;
-
the article is rejected.
Reviewers submit their written reports in the OJS system under the article’s submission record, providing a reasoned evaluation. It is also necessary for reviewers to summarize their conclusions briefly.
